Aims and Objectives of Friends of Federation Walk Inc

Our project is to prepare a Master Plan for the regeneration of the vegetation of The Spit on the eastern side of Seaworld Drive, north to the Gold Coast Seaway from the carpark opposite the Seaworld roundabout.

To create public access for passive recreation, and ensure present and future generations of the community have access to enjoy, appreciate and care for The Spit.

Our objective is to maintain Federation Walk Coastal Reserve as a natural Public Open Space for the benefit of the Community.

According to some opinions this area is a wasteland and an eyesore and needs to have something done about it - like stick a development on it maybe - perhaps a golf course may suit some. We love this area and recognise its unique beauty and are determined that it remains natural public open space.

This area is regularly targetted by environmental vandals. It is consistenly set on fire. If you notice anyone or suspect anyone of deliberately commiting these acts please call the police. The question is who stands to gain from the spit being trashed?
